‘How to construct’ Gyproc Encasements

It is often a common misconception that the same level of plasterboard and the same installation rules apply when installing systems to offer the required level of fire protection to structural steel, as compared to fire resistance. This is not the case. Different system specifications may be necessary with different installation requirements. Ensure you know the correct detailing when installing Gyproc fire protective encasements to structural steel.

Undertaken within our new Dry-lining workshop area of Saint-Gobain's Kingscourt Academy, in a hands-on practical manner, see, learn, and ensure your understanding of the core detailing requirements for the installation and sign-off of Gyproc’s two primary Encasement systems.

Covering both Gyproc’s framed GypLyner and frameless FireCase structural steel encasement systems, we’ll help you understand how to ensure the correct level of fire protection has been specified and how to apply it correctly.

During this day-long course, participants will be given the opportunity to team up and construct simple Gyproc encasements under the guidance of one of our experienced trainers. This will include the most common encasement details often required in site situations.

This new course adds to Saint-Gobain's Technical Academy’s existing practical installation courses which will form part of a wider series of ‘How to construct’ installation courses including Gyproc metal framed partition, ceiling, wall lining, and steel framed encasement systems.
